I have decided to try an experiment to try to regain my sanity.
Everything that is being done to this country by the current regime has been causing me a tremendous amount of stress. Throw in the fact that we are experiencing very cold weather, especially overnight, and I was reaching the end of my rope.
So on Sunday evening, I decided to temporarily suspend my Facebook account. It has now been 72 hours, and I have not signed in to my account even once. And do you know what? I don't miss it. I don't miss the BS or the nonsense or the fake information. The only thing I miss is the ability to share my photos.
I suppose at some point I will sign back into my account, even if just for a short time. But this has been a great experiment. My stress levels have dropped dramatically. No longer am I bombarded with some digital reporter breathlessly reporting the latest assault on our country and on our Constitution. I limit how much news I watch to 30 minutes of local news and 30 minutes of national news. That's it. No more.
I like the results of this experiment and I may well let it continue to run.
