I am not part of the LGBTQ community. But I stand with those who are.
I am not Hispanic, but I stand with those who are.
I am not Jewish, but I stand with those who are.
I am not Ukrainian, but I stand with those who are.
I do not live in Gaza, but I stand with those who do.
There is little I can do to help the four groups mentioned above with their current world struggles. I have no power. I have no influence. I don't have a great deal of money. I'm not a politician.
And realistically, my standing with these groups of people won't make any difference to them and to the challenges they face. But just maybe, knowing that one senior citizen cares about them and is appalled by the way they are being treated will help them understand they are not alone.
